The gold from Mt. Kare in Papua New Guinea is unmistakable. The gold rush that lasted there from 1988 to 1994 was a phenomenon of modern times. Not all of the gold found there was crystallized, and most of it was melted. The rare pieces that were not melted down are highly prized by collectors.
